The car skidded on the way to school and went right round in a circle! It was dreadfully cold all day. I ended up bent double.
Chump told me yesterday that she heard Anya and Martha saying Adrian is going to leave Lucy – he’s already going out with another girl. But Anya is getting dreadfully keen on Martha. They’re both fond of Talc, which is what probably brings them so close together. What annoys me is their corny sense of humour.
Missed PE as usual. Had to read Othello out loud in English. I rather enjoy it - I so love acting.
Dinner break we walked down to town. I FROZE. We’d hardly reached the counter in Rumbelows when Alan (the amusing one) said, “NO”. It was hilarious. He says 'no', they haven’t had any French records in yet, and he’s terribly sorry. Then we went to Boots for Anya to look for a present for Talc. (I still feel mad when I think of what Martha said yesterday about boyfriends, I don’t think she thinks I’ve ever had any.) We all shared a pack of chips. Just as well because there wasn’t much food left at lunch.
The Glyn social thing is going to be barn-dancing. Better than a band, I suppose.
Top of the Pops: Beatles are No. 1 with ‘Hello Goodbye’ – I think it’s marvellous now. Traffic were also on: the Polnareff chap (Dave Mason) has got a droopy moustache and looks adorable. Dave Davies of Kinks also looks like Pol.
Had a hot water-bottle. First time for years.
