Lucy rang me up early to tell me she can't come to the Fair this evening as it'd be too difficult getting home. Such a pity.

Went down to the rose garden before school and lay under the huge tree in the sun. It was very hot and absolutely gorgeous.

For P.E. some of us went for a cross-country. It was fab and we bought some sweets at this little shop on the way. Tig suggested that one half term after 'O' Levels Lucy, Anya, Sandra, Mary, Rosemary and me go youth hostelling together. It would be absolutely fabulous - so much fun with a crowd.

At home listened to a lot of radio and heard three of Polnareff's new songs, including Ame Caline, which I now think is fab. Had salmon-trout for supper, then changed into jeans and at 9.15 we left for the Fair.

It was absolutely FAB, the only thing was, I felt a bit embarrassed going around with parents.

It’s crowded out with teddy-boys - not so many leather-jackets around but still a lot of greasy whiffs.

First we went on the motorbikes – absolutely GORGEOUS. Then went on the dodgems which was as fantastic as ever (Ma and Pa kept bumping into us!). Had candy floss and chips, then crossed the road to the other fair and went on the horses, which was really rather fun as it was the original old roundabout. I saw Sandra and Anne and they persuaded me to go on that terrifying thing where all the chairs whoosh round! It wasn't half as frightening as I thought it'd be. Actually it was fab. It was so fast and smooth and lovely, and they played Lulu's song.

Today I got the queerest sort of squeamish pains, and every now and then I got pricks, queasy ones which made me feel sickish - but they only lasted a few seconds.
