THE WORLD OF ‘SALUT LES COPAINS’
F R I D A Y, 6 J A N
'Salut les Copains' came for the first time! Each month they give you the words of four songs! They’ve got the words of Les Playboys, Rendez-vous l’Automne, En Bandouliere and Sous Quelle Etoile, which is marvellous, but it’s so terribly annoying not knowing what they mean - lots of words aren’t even in the dictionary.
Chump's friends Lucinda and Joanna came for lunch and tea and the three of them made a terrible noise all day. Chump's a show-off when she's with her friends - it's rather a nuisance. Lucinda's nice - she seems to admire me.
Changed into corduroy skirt and new jumper and at 7.30 the Briants came, including Liz and Richard. Richard’s a scream! I like them all - we had a super time. Mummy did chicken casserole and roast potatoes, and orange fruit salad and Hungarian chocolate cake, the one with eight eggs which Granny thinks is wasteful. Had coffee in the sitting room, and played a super game of Never Say Die. Mr B won. Also showed them photos of the boat.
At quarter to 11 they left – we opened the door and lo and behold there was SNOW. I threw my first snow-ball – at Chump!
